Hi, I’m Susan Dawson-Cook, M.S. I’ve been a fitness professional since 1988. I was an AFAA-certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor and I earned my 200 RYT Yoga Alliance certification in 2016 and my 500 RYT, E-200 RYT and YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider) in 2026. I have published articles in dozens of magazines and online publications over the years including American Fitness, Swimmer, Desert Leaf, Rauch Review, Business Insider, Arizona Daily Star, Romance Writers Report, and Desert Leaf. I currently teach yoga on Zoom and in the San Carlos, Mexico community where I spend much of the year teaching yoga, leading yoga retreats, writing, and swimming in the Sea of Cortez with the dolphins. I also compete in U.S. Masters swimming and have made the national top 10 list in numerous events in recent years.
In March, 2011, I launched my first DVD, Personal Best Stretch: Move Better Than Ever. Since then, I published four books including Fitter Than Ever at 40 and Beyond, Fitter Than Ever at 50 and Beyond, Fitter Than Ever at 60 and Beyond, Swimming with Dolphins, and Slim for Life Secrets. I have recorded many meditation practices on the Insight Timer App.
Below are three WebMD articles, written by Sarah Ludwig Rausch and published in 2020, where I was interviewed for advice on setting and meeting goals, training at home, adhering to exercise, starting a fitness plan for weight loss. I hope you enjoy them.
